My love of art began long before I completed design courses at Humber College and art classes at the Cedar Ridge Creative Center and elsewhere. My teacher at the Center was a master classical oil painter who believed that anyone could learn to draw and paint. I was hooked and have been ever since. I find that my fascination with painting continues to challenge and excite, especially in trying new ways and materials. My favourite is acrylic because of its versatility but I like pastel for its softness.
My favourite subjects come from the fond memories of people and places. More recently, I like to explore the beauty of colour and texture in abstracts. My passion for painting and the fun of painting with others who share that interest brought me to The Artists of Uxbridge Association where I enjoy the friendly atmosphere, the inspiration, and the encouragement offered by its members.
